From Buds to Blossoms
Arumbugal Trust, established in 1987, is a registered Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to promoting the comprehensive development of marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu. The term 'Arumbugal' in Tamil signifies the blossoming of floral buds, symbolizing a proactive approach to achieving overall development.

Recipient of the World Bank IDM Award in 2004’ – in New Delhi, for the development of low-cost sanitary napkins benefiting impoverished rural women.
Recipient of the UNAIDS Civil Society Award in 2006’ in New Delhi for outstanding community care and support services provided to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Tirunelveli.
Recipient of the International Achievers Award for Social Service’ in 2010, presented by the Indian Achievers Forum in New Delhi.
Awardee of the Dr. Gurusamy Muthaliyar Award’ in 2014 for exceptional contributions to environmental conservation and management, conferred by the Department of Environment and Forests, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai.
Recipient of the Social Responsibility Award 2015’ presented by Cancer Prevention Centre in Tirunelveli.
Winner of the Independence Day NGO Award 2020’ for outstanding contributions to Covid Prevention activities, as recognized by the District Administration in Tirunelveli district.

Objectives
Organizing and uniting women by forming Self-Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups to support them in sustaining their livelihoods.
To instill an understanding of the significance of nature among the general public and raise awareness about the imperative for ecological sustenance through a range of awareness and research activities.
To establish grassroots-level organizations within forest and marine-dependent communities and provide support for their environmental and livelihood development.
To provide care for children at risk and guide them through life skills and value education, aiming to contribute to the creation of a crime-free society.
To work towards the health development of marginalized sections of society. Tamil Nadu by training younger generation in street theatre and folk art forms, and to utilize these art skills in organizing community awareness generation programmes.

Establishment of an online marketing forum for our entrepreneurs and the creation of a skill development centre for women.
