New Office Building
Arumbugal has been able to fulfill its long - held desire of constructing a new structure at Aachimadam Village, Tiruchendur Main Road, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli from August 2023.
Cultural Awareness on Man- Animal conflict
Arumbugal in collaboration and support with Kalakad Munda nthurai Tiger Reserve in Tirunelveli, conducted cultural awareness programs on Human-Animal conflict in 25 villages within the Kalakad Sanctuary.
Tribal Entrepreneur Training
Arumbugal, In partnership with Bosch India LTD IN Kangaikondan, provided entrepreneurial skills training to 15 Kani tribes from t he papanasam forest range. The training, conducted at our Arumbugal Training Center, focused on herbal soap making, coconut shell handicrafts a nd fruit halwa production over a span of 3 days.
SHG Animator Representatives Training
Arumbugal organized five Animator Representatives Training sessions for Women Self-Help Group members. A total of 135 participants received training in leadership, communication and accounts maintenance skills for 5 days.
Students visit
Arumbugal Training Centre hosted a three-day visit for 160 Agriculture Students from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Kilikulam, allowing them to enhance their understanding of NGO operations. Arumbugal conducted a one-day training session on Participatory Rural Appraisal and Micro-planning theory for 50 Master of Social Work (MSW) students from St. Xavier College, Palayamkottai.
Awareness Cultural Rally on Save Western Ghats
Arumbugal, in collaboration with the Eco Development Division of Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) and Muthamil Public School, Tirunelveli, addressed the issue of waste disposal during the annual Sorimuthu Ayyanar Temple festival which is located in a reserve forest region of Western Ghats. A 40 km awareness cultural program and rally on saving the Western Ghats and Thamirabharani River were conducted to educate the public about the environmental impact on both the river, a source of drinking water for five districts, and the wildlife. 50 students and artists participated in this venture.
Central Academy For State Forest Service, Coimbatore
Arumbugal facilitated a Partipatory Rural Appraisal exercise and micro-plan preparation for 53 State Forest Service officer trainees of CASFOS, in their South India tour at Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Tirunelveli for 2 days. Arumbugal conducted its eco-cultural awareness program as a part of a three-day lifestyle for environment training organized by the CASFOS in Coimbatore. The training was attended by 30 participants from various services and the forest officer trainees.
